Oleksiy Chernikin.
After graduating from the Odesa Conservatoire, worked in the Musical Theatre in Cheboksary.
In 1990 became the Chief Choirmaster of the Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theatre and in a short time renewed the chorus with new professional performers with higher musical education. O.Chernikin was the co-producer of the operas “Boris Godunov” by M.Mussorgsky, “Taras Bulba” by M.Lysenko, “Poet” by L.Kolodub, “Eugene Onegin” by P. Tchaikovsky, “Carmen” by G.Bizet, “Samson and Delilah” by C.Saint-Saens, “Othello” by G.Verdi and “Requiem” of the same author.
An important part of the repertoire of chorus groups, with which O.Chernikin works, is formed by the spiritual music and scores of old-time masters of church music.
